This week we will do our semester final art piece. Look at the directions below and start planning your ideas. We will write our artist statement at the very end. ( so probably next week some time)

sketch- draw someone who inspires you
This 6 weeks we will be learning how to draw the human body in movement . Watch the video linked below on how to do quick gesture drawings. These gesture drawings will look like the person is in mid-action like running or walking. We will create these with simple shapes like squares, triangles and lines to get the basic movement down. Focus on things like bend in the knees, arms and hips (joints). You can ask someone at home to be your model and get them to pose in a way that looks like they are running, jumping or dancing. Give yourself about 30 seconds to draw them quickly. Remember to use simple shapes like ovals or lines for the arms. triangles or squares for the torso (body). Split your paper into 4 sections and practice 4 times with 4 different poses. Send me a picture of your gesture drawings for this weeks grade.
