Today, I need all argumentative essay's finished or near completion. We will be testing over Unit 4 tomorrow, so you will not have much time to work on essays tomorrow in the lab. Look back at the assignment from Tuesday, February 9th. This is where you will turn it in. Make sure you turn it in on that day's assignment.

Today is a snow day, no new assignments posted. If you have time and nothing to do, which I bet most of you do, ;) you can pull up the writing assignment and get it finished! This will be one less thing we have to do when we come back. Let me know how y'all are doing! Hopefully everyone has water and electricity!

Today, you are going to do some independent research on one of the artists we read about last week. When conducting online research, it is important to look for sites that are trusted. If you are on a site that is not a trusted site and just created by an individual, the information you learn may be incorrect.

A simple way to guide your research is to use a site that is trusted and credible. I have included a few sites for you to use. When you are researching the artist, answer the questions on the Google document below. Use complete sentences, capitalization, and punctuation. Look at more than one site to get your information. We will learn how to cite our sources next week on our Technology Day.

You will need to fill out a few questions and then explore the sight for at least 30 minutes. It has books, read to me, audiobooks, and videos that you can watch today. We will use this occasionally to read books.

When you have done your 30 minutes on this site, you may then go to www.noredink.com and complete one of the assignments that has been assigned to you. Remember, I sent you an email with all of your log in information and it will have your username and password for this site as well. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will be taking attendance and a grade for your activity on these two sites today.

This is part 2 of the Pre-Assessment for this week. Please read the passage and answer the question, 45-69. When you get to question 70 and 71, you have to listen to the uploaded reading of Amal Unbound before you answer those questions. Then go on and complete the rest of the assignment.
