I introduced the testing strategy we will be using to help prepare for the STAAR exam. Please look that over and then complete the review for the test tomorrow on the Google Slide labeled " 1/11 Unit 7 Review".

Today we worked in small groups to decompose and compose fractions. Please watch the video and follow along using the Google Slides labeled "1/6 Decompose/Compose Fractions". You will then need to complete the second slide with 5 questions for a review on fractions. Lastly, log into Imagine Math to complete at least 1 lesson today. I have attached how to log into the program again.

Today you will just use what you have learned on shading shape in different fractions and then comparing two fractions. Then have some fun practicing your multiplication facts.

As a class, we went through and worked out 5 problems together. You will then need to complete 10 word problem to practice your problem solving skills using CUBES. You can either write down the problems on a different sheet to show me your work. The other option is to use the shapes and lines feature in Google slides to do it online.

I have attached the material we are using in the classroom this week. We will go over it and I will post worksheets you will complete each day. The instruction video is long, but we went over a lot of information. Please remember CUBES from the previous lessons (linked video for a review if needed).

Please watch the videos on the different properties of operation. What are the 4 types of properties that you learned about? Also, show me an example of your favorite one.

Think of a time that you have seen a graph and/or a frequency table displayed. Tell me about it. How did it help you understand what was being displayed?

If you look at a pictograph and then at a dot plot, explain how a dot plot shows you the data and how you think it can be easier to read compared to a pictograph. (Hint: Giving a real world example can help you explain your answer.)

Think about when you are running. Can you just run a mile in 5 minutes like you would do for a marathon? NO! You have to train for it by building stamina and strength in running. Explain to me how you can build stamina by reading and creating graphs.
