Today you will be finished the student journal from yesterday. There are three pages for today's assignment. On the first page, you'll read the survival advantage and match the trait that best helps the organism survive. The first one is done for you: survival advantage: insulates against cold trait: blubber.
On the next two pages, you'll pick a trait from the previous page, list its survival advantage, give an example of an animal that has that trait, and then describe how it helps that organism survive. I completed the first one for you to see as an example.

Today you'll be completing the respiratory system. You'll need to use the guide I attached yesterday (I'll reattach it for you).

1. If you have a printer, print off the diagram of the respiratory system. If you don't you can draw it in your science journal or on a separate sheet of paper if your journal is at school. Just be sure to bring it with you when you come back!
2. Enter into your table of contents: Respiratory System page 32
3. On page 32, you'll have the drawing/picture of the system labeled, and all of the main organs and function of the system written out.
4. After you've completed the drawing, you'll answer the questions from the student guide about the system. Do NOT do questions 4, 5, and 6!!!
5. Once you finish the journal, this needs to go on page 33 in your science journal. You can either print and glue it on page 33, or you can write JUST the questions you had to answer. Your journal entry for this assignment is: Respiratory Journal, page 33.

Today you will be finishing up the circulatory system and working on the respiratory system. On page 29 in your science journal, we did a writing assignment (so you can leave that page blank). Page 30 and 31 you will be putting in information about the circulatory system.

2. Table of contents Respiratory System Page 32-33

On page 30, you will draw a picture of the circulatory system in your journal. I attached a picture for you to refer to. Label the main organs in the system: heart, veins, arteries, and capillaries. Draw the arteries red and the veins blue.

On page 31, from the assignment you did yesterday (the questions that you answered), either print it off and glue it on the page 31, or copy questions 1, 2, 3, and 5 (NOT 4) into your science journal with your answer included.

When you are finished, read about the respiratory system. We will finish our work on that system tomorrow!

****If your journal is at school, do all of the journal assignments on a separate sheet of paper (if you have one) and we will glue it in your journal when you get back!
