On December 29th, the New Deal Varsity cheerleaders left for Florida to perform in the pregame at the Citrus Bowl. In addition to the New Deal cheerleaders, there was almost 1,000 cheerleaders from other US high schools. Each day, the girls had a 4-hour practice to learn their 8-minute routine. After all the girls’ hard work each day, they got to go to multiple Disney themed parks, including: Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
On New Year’s day all of the cheerleaders arrived at the stadium and performed their pregame routine in front of thousands of people. Senior Aubrey Ammons said, “I am so grateful that we got the opportunity to come and perform at the Citrus Bowl. The whole trip was very memorable and performing in front of thousands of people was really cool!”
